If you have never been on safari, you might imagine constant adrenaline. But the reality is a beautiful balance of thrill and deep relaxation. It is a rhythm dictated by the sun and the animals.

05:30: The Awakening

A gentle knock on your tent door. "Jambo!" Coffee and biscuits are waiting. The air is brisk. You dress in layers and head out as the stars fade.

06:30: The Morning Drive

The bush is alive. The light is perfect for photography. We track prints on the road. Maybe we find a pride of lions sunning themselves, or a herd of elephants moving silently through the mist. This is prime viewing time.

10:00: Bush Breakfast

We stop in a scenic spot. Coffee, eggs, fruit, right in the middle of the savannah. There is nothing quite like toast cooked over a small fire with zebras grazing nearby.

13:00: Siesta & High Sun

Animals retreat to the shade, and so do we. Back at the lodge, you lunch and rest. Read a book, swim in the pool, or just watch the river from your deck. This "down time" is essential. It is when you process what you have seen.

16:00: The Afternoon Drive

As the heat breaks, we head out again. The light turns golden. Predators wake up for the evening hunt. We might stop for a "sundowner", a gin and tonic as the sun sets, painting the sky in reds and oranges.

20:00: Dinner & Fire

Dinner under the stars. The campfire crackles. Stories are shared. The sounds of the African night surround you. You sleep deeply, ready to do it all again.
